The grounds are independent for input and output. The GU9-HF-50 is a 9 to 1 beverage transformer with an SO-239 connector for coupling your coax and dual banana jacks for connecting beverage and ground. This is an ideal balun to be used on an Off Center Fed Antenna. The "S" model has two extra drain holes so this problem does not happen, but it is still a good idea to provide an extra waterproof enclosure. It is suggested that the balun be placed inside a waterproof enclosure. If the balun is placed on a flat surface and no additional protection against the elements are provided, the bottom half of the enclosure could possibly fill with water over an extended period of time. If the balun is mounted vertically, coax connector aiming down, the enclosure is considered water resistant and no additional protection is needed. The hardware is also stainless steel so NO RUST! There are also two drain holes in the bottom of the enclosure should any water work its way inside. The balun is built inside a NEMA enclosure and will hold up in the harsh UV environment. The dielectric of the wire in conjunction with the teflon tubing gives the baluns a voltage rating of 10,000 volts. They use dual ferrite cores and can handle 5KW continuous and up to 10KW peaks in a matched condition. These are very efficient baluns that are better than 98% efficient from 160 to 6 meters. Version "S" does not have any eye hooks and the terminals for your parallel feeders are on the top of the enclosure instead of on the sides. Both version "A" and version "S" use the same internal parts and can be interchanged. It can also be used at the shack end of your parallel feeders. Model version "A" is designed to be used at the feed point of your antenna, such as a folded dipole or any other 200-ohm antenna. These baluns maintain a flat SWR curve over the entire HF frequency range when terminated into a 200-ohm matched load. The GU4-HF-5KW is a 4:1 Guanella Current Balun with an SO-239 connector for coupling your coax and machine screws for connecting parallel feeders or your antenna wire. These baluns are usually not adequate for choking RF from working its way back to your rig. Most matching networks that have a balun installed use a 4:1 voltage balun. Do not place it on the antenna side of the transmatch. If you are using a transmatch, connect the line isolator to the input (station side) of your transmatch. The MIL SPEC transmission line used to make the isolator uses: silver clad copper center conductor, silver covered shield, solid teflon dielectric with a temperature range from -100 to +200 degrees centigrade. It will safely handle peak power ratings of up to 350 watts. The power handling capability of the line isolator is conservatively rated at 250 watts from 160 to 6 meters. It uses the Guanella current/choke design. The line isolator is used to isolate any RF (common mode) that may have worked its way back to your station. The BLLI-HF-250 is a 50-ohm inline isolator with two SO-239 connectors for coupling your coax.
